Early warning and managing change through linking the reporting processes for Cost, Value and Time.
Early Warning and Managing Change
Change is inevitable. Projects start out conceptually and in broad terms based on estimates and assumptions, with those estimates and assumptions being ‘firmed up’ over time, often once contractual relationships already exist within the supply chain. It is therefore vital that processes are in place to warn of issues at the earliest opportunity to allow the Management Team time to react in the most efficient and cost-effective manners.
Utilising Earned Value Analysis (EVA) techniques, linking the disciplines of reporting cost expended, value earned and time passed, we can help you to build efficient monitoring and reporting processes that give the earliest possible indication of a problem. With sufficient early warning, a project team is then best placed to develop and manage mitigation measures rather than being placed on the back foot and having to react to events.
We recognise the importance of predictability of cost and time and specifically the impact change can have on the viability and ultimate success of a project. It is important that a project has clarity and vision at its outset, ideally with project requirements nailed in specifications rather than left as outline proposals, but we recognise that not all projects can be so clearly defined right at the start. Recognising this, our team has detailed experience and expertise in managing change and we can help you to deliver your projects within budget and on time.
